Fernando Alonso topped first practice ahead of this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix – held at the Marina Bay Circuit.
The two-time world champion posted a 1m 31.116 on the soft compound to set the pace, ahead of Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen.
Verstappen, with a new front wing, was just under three-tenths adrift, while Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri completed the top five – Lando Norris was sixth.
It was a smooth session to start the weekend, although an early pit lane brake fire for Williams' Alex Albon saw him miss the bulk of the session.
