Have one-off F1 race liveries lost their appeal?

McLaren are running its second special livery of the season this weekend, but are they starting to lose their appeal?

Only a few years ago, fans were begging F1 teams to start running special liveries. The teams responded well, with special liveries having been a common theme over the last couple of seasons.

However, has the paddock gone overboard with special designs? Five special liveries have already featured this season, a number which will increase to six this weekend.

McLaren has unveiled a special livery in honour of Ayrton Senna for this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix. It marks McLaren's second one-off livery in the first eight races, with the Woking-based side having also used a special design for the Japanese Grand Prix.

The Miami Grand Prix saw three special liveries, as Ferrari, Red Bull and RB all decided to spice up its look.

As has been the case recently, Alpine also ran a special design at the start of the 2024 season, which features pink instead of blue.

Do you like the special livery craze or are unique designs losing their appeal, have your say in our poll below!
