Hugh Bird, for many years the race engineer of Sergio Perez, has taken on a new position inside Red Bull.

Last year, Bird's role was temporarily taken over by Richard Wood around the summer break as Bird was on paternity leave.

Recently, it was revealed that Wood will permanently become the new race engineer of Liam Lawson, who has replaced Perez as Max Verstappen's team-mate this year.

RacingNews365 can further confirm that Bird will now work as an engineer at the factory in Milton Keynes.

In addition to the team at the track, engineers at the factory also work hard to improve the car during a race weekend, often through the night.

Verstappen will continue to work with Gianpiero Lambiase in 2025. While Lambiase was recently promoted to the role of Head of Racing, he also retains his position as Verstappen's race engineer.

The two men have as worked together since Verstappen's Red Bull debut in 2016.
