Mexican Grand Prix weather report: Is F1 set for hurricane disruption?

Will the conditions from Hurricane Otis impact the Mexican Grand Prix race weekend?

This weekend sees the 19th round of the Formula 1 season take place at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriquez.

Max Verstappen enters the round having sealed the Drivers' Championship already, with Mexico forming the middle part of a triple header featuring the United States and Brazil.

Scorching conditions have been present at the last two rounds from the USA and Qatar, but the temperature is set to be cooler this weekend.

Hurricane set for disruption?

There is currently a category five hurricane passing over Mexico, named Hurricane Otis.

According to our friends at WeerOnline.com, it is moving roughly 200 kilometres north of the circuit and will hit the circuit with rain in the build-up to the weekend.

As a result, it will wash away all the rubber on the track and leave it in a low-grip state when the drivers take to the circuit for Friday practice.

The first free practice takes place at 19:30 BST, with the weather throughout the day showing a mix of sun, clouds and potential showers.

While the temperatures will be lower than previous rounds, it will still not be cold with a maximum of 25 degrees projected for the day.

Qualifying day is set to be dry with little wind present at the track, while the temperature is projected to rise to 26 degrees.

Similar conditions will be present during the Grand Prix on Sunday and the drivers shouldn't expect rain to interrupt their strategies.
