Lewis Hamilton has told his Ferrari team that he does not want to make "any changes' to the set-up of his car after a promising first day in Las Vegas.

Hamilton was 11th and 10th in the two sessions, but both were disrupted, with two late red flags in FP2 not allowing a number of drivers to complete their soft tyre runs.

Hamilton was 10th in the session, with Max Verstappen ninth and Oscar Piastri in 14th.

The Las Vegas GP marks a full season since Hamilton last claimed a grand prix podium, second for Mercedes, as he seeks to finally finish in the top three for the Scuderia.

Reflecting on his day, Hamilton was relatively upbeat and optimistic heading into qualifying.

"I felt pretty decent, I had a good FP1 and generally felt, but I just didn't get a lap in, and it was the same thing in FP2," Hamilton explained.

"We improved the car in FP2, and I was feeling strong in Sector 1, the same as in FP1, but the yellow and red flags just got in the way, unfortunately.

"But everyone is in the same boat, but I got some good learnings out there, and I'm excited for [qualifying].

"It was very slippery, but the track ramped up quite quickly, and I hope it is dry [for qualifying].

"It is very, very cold, but we probably won't make any changes because I am happy with the car."
