Jaguar's Mitch Evans has dealt the team's Formula E rivals a major boost, by noting that a poor Miami E-Prix will leave the Big Cat facing a "tough season".
Despite Evans winning the season-opening São Paulo E-Prix from a remarkable last on the grid – the first time in FE history a race has been won from last – it has been a poor start to Jaguar's defence of the teams' and manufacturers' championships.
Problems with its Gen3 Evo package have arisen, particularly on the mechanical side of things.
In São Paulo, Evans started from last due to a front driveshaft issue, whilst he suffered a brake-by-wire fault in the second race of the Jeddah E-Prix.
As for Nick Cassidy, he suffered a technical infringement in Mexico City qualifying, which booted him to the back of the grid having initially progressed to the duels.
Car balance and a lack of top speed have been other clear issues for the Coventry-based outfit, with set ups having been experimented with.
Ahead of the fifth round of the season in Miami in just under a fortnight, Jaguar sit seventh in the standings and 33 points behind Nissan.
When asked by RacingNews365 if Jaguar could rediscover some form in Miami, Evans answered: "It's very hard to judge. It's hard to know with the things we can change now, in terms of homologation, all of the hardware is frozen.
"I think that's a big question mark, just with the tools that we have, mechanically and systems wise, if we can, or not. I think that's a big question.
"But that's the powertrain that we have now, we got to try and make the most of it. If it's something inherited, with a new car, like that's kind of in the design philosophy, then we're in big trouble.
"But we're not sure yet. If it's still bad in Miami, then we're gonna have a tough, tough season."
