With 14 races down and eight to go in the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship, drivers and teams are starting to get to the end of their power unit component lifecycle.
This year is slightly different after the F1 Commission agreed to approve an increase in the number of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Turbo Charger, MGU-H, and MGU-K elements from three to four per-driver at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
The change came after fears that teams would incur unwanted penalties early on, after Charles Leclerc took a 10-place grid penalty at the Saudi Arabia GP for using a third Control Electronics unit.
Sergio Perez has used the most of his Energy Store and Control Electronics, having taking his third components at the Australian Grand Prix.
It was a relief for some drivers that lost their engines early on due to faults, including Lando Norris who suffered from a pneumatics system problem at Bahrain.
Both Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hülkenberg are the only two drivers to have taken a fifth ICE, Turbo Charger, MGU-H, and MGU-K throughout the season after Haas has been trying to solve their reliability problems.
It's worth noting that Liam Lawson and Daniel Ricciardo will inherit the components used by Nyck de Vries during the ten races he contested at the start of the season in the other AlphaTauri.
