Formula 1 brake supplier Brembo shows off latest creation

Brembo has been the largest brake supplier in Formula 1 for many years. Currently, the Italian manufacturer supplies the brakes to eight F1 teams. The brake manufacturer is also active in other racing classes and from the experience gained in those classes they developed the new T3 brake disc.

Brembo recently unveiled their new T3 brake disc and RacingNews365.com were there for the occasion. The Bergamo-based company is known for its top-quality brakes made from countless years spent in motorsports. Every year Brembo is active in various motorsport classes such as Formula 1, Formula E, Le Mans Series and the WTCR. In the premier class of motorsport the Italians use prototype brakes, which means that one cannot use the specific components for their everyday car. In the Le Mans Series and the WTCR, however, there is a clearer link to passenger cars. The T3 brake has therefore evolved from the experience gained in those racing classes. A car can thus slow down in a more controlled way thanks to the T3 brake disc, which is not only important for the individual, but also for the driver. Just like in Formula 1, it is important for drivers in other racing classes that the car brakes in a controlled manner. As a result, it is rare to see a driver lock their brakes when taking a corner. The driver thus prevents flat spotting on their tyre, which can cause damage to the car in the remaining stages of the race. For the sports car driver, it is always important to keep the car as balanced as possible, and the brakes play a major role in this. Therefore, the T3 brake disc represents an excellent update to the standard Brembo equipment. In addition to the T3 update, Brembo has several updates in store for the sporty motorist this season. For example, one can choose from a Sport, GT and Pista update package, with the latter made for those drivers who want to race exclusively on the track (Pista stands for track/circuit in Italian). Like all luxury brands in the world, Brembo has had to deal with copycat behavior in recent years. This involved clamping down on brakes marketed as Brembo brakes even though they weren't made by the Italian manufacturer. To put an end to all this ambiguity and offer the customer more certainty, the company has developed a special app. This ensures that the customer and the dealer can check a Brembo product for authenticity. This way, the Italians also want to be able to offer the safety that the customer expects from the respected brand.
