Max Verstappen has now built up a 93-point lead in the Drivers' World Championship after his dominant victory at the Belgium Grand Prix.

His ninth victory of the season came after he started 14th on the grid, working his way up to eighth by the end of the first lap.

It took him just 12 laps to overtake all 12 cars that stood between him and first, eventually finishing the race 17 seconds ahead of teammate Sergio Perez.

It was another difficult day for Ferrari after Charles Leclerc dropped back to sixth at the flag due to a pit lane speed infraction which cost him two points.

Ferrari elected to pit him with two laps to go for an attempt at the fastest lap, but he went 1kph over the 80kph pit lane speed limit, resulting in a five-second time penalty, which dropped him from fifth to sixth behind Fernando Alonso.

In the Constructors' standings, Red Bull are now 118 points clear of Ferrari.

Alpine have extended their lead over McLaren in P4 and are now 20 points ahead.
