Max Verstappen beat Charles Leclerc to victory in Saturday's Sprint race at Imola, picking up eight championship points in the process.
It means Verstappen now has 33 points to his name in 2022, as he looks to make up for costly retirements in Bahrain and Australia.
Meanwhile, Verstappen's deficit to Leclerc has come down slightly from 46 points to 45, with 26 more up for grabs in Sunday's Grand Prix.
However, Leclerc's overall lead has still increased; he is 40 points clear of his new nearest rival, teammate Carlos Sainz, with George Russell slipping to third.
