Updated 2023 F1 Championship standings after Hamilton and Leclerc disqualified from US Grand Prix

There are no major changes in positions, but Sergio Perez can breathe a sigh of relief. He initially saw Lewis Hamilton lose 11 points this weekend, but due to the disqualification of the Briton - whose floorboard, like Charles Leclerc's, was too worn - Perez actually gains 9 points. The Mexican thus consolidates his second place in the championship behind Max Verstappen.

Sergio Perez is the big winner from the disqualification of Lewis Hamilton from the 2023 United States Grand Prix, consolidating his second place in the championship.

Hamilton's second place coupled with fifth on the road for Perez meant the Mercedes took eight points out of the Red Bull in their battle for runner-up.

However, after the Briton was chucked out, Perez was promoted to fourth, and so pulls a 12 point cushion on Hamilton to lead him by 39 points.

Elsewhere, Mercedes lost out to Ferrari by five points as Carlos Sainz inherited a podium while AlphaTauri's day went from good to even better with Yuki Tsunoda now doubling the team's points haul for the entire season in one afternoon.

McLaren has also now passed Aston Martin for fourth in the Constructors' although hunting down Ferrari looks to be too much of a stretch.
