The F1 Grands Prix that might disappear in the coming years

With the extension of Spa Francorchamps into at least the 2025 Formula 1 season, it is worth having a look at all the races that are contracted to host Grands Prix for the future.

Australia has the longest-running contract going as far as 2037, while the races in Hungary and Austria remain until 2030 and 2032.

The two long-term contracts with races in the US are mainly due to F1's own interference with those races, as they take hold of the promotion of the Las Vegas race and help organisers of the Miami GP.

While the contract for Las Vegas runs until 2025 provisionally, the city has already given permission to continue staging races through to 2032.

The current Concorde Agreement states that a maximum of 24 races can be staged during a season, with the future of Imola up in the air following its cancellation earlier this year.

Which circuits are under pressure?

The overview below shows that it is mainly the traditional circuits that have short-term contracts.

After next year, two iconic circuits, Silverstone and Suzuka, are not yet sure of a spot on the calendar.

Several other circuits are under pressure for renewal beyond 2024: Spa-Francorchamps only managed to secure a one-year contract extension, through 2025.

The Dutch GP is not a certainty after 2025, while races in Monaco, Mexico, Brazil, Italy (Monza & Imola) and China all have contracts that expire in 2024.
