Max Verstappen scares girlfriend in hilarious golf cart overtake

A clip of Max Verstappen has gone viral on social media, showcasing the Red Bull driver scaring his long-time partner, Kelly Piquet.

The four-time world champion is making the most of the final days of the F1 summer break before the season resumes next weekend at his home race – the Dutch Grand Prix.

It has been a challenging campaign for Verstappen, who currently sits 97 points behind championship leader Oscar Piastri and faces the likely prospect of his first failed title defence.

Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko recently ruled the 27-year-old out of the title fight, marking a stark contrast to recent seasons for the Dutchman.

However, Verstappen remains in good spirits and confirmed during the recent Hungarian GP that he will stay with the Milton Keynes-based outfit for the 2026 season.

Sticking with Red Bull for the start of the new power unit regulations is crucial for the Austrian outfit, which continues to face difficulties with its second seat.

As for Verstappen, the summer break has clearly provided an opportunity to relax with friends and family.

Italy is just one of the destinations Verstappen has visited with friends and family, with golf also featuring on his agenda.

Hilariously, Verstappen has found a way to blend racing with golf, as seen in a viral social media clip posted by Porsche Formula E driver Antonio Felix da Costa.

Da Costa shared a video of Verstappen driving a golf cart with his partner and her daughter as passengers, before veering off the path to execute a comical overtake.

The stunt prompted screams from Piquet, while leaving others laughing.
