Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc have been called before the FIA stewards at the Spanish Grand Prix for making contact at the safety car restart.

The Dutchman suffered a huge snap of oversteer whilst exiting the final corner of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya as the race got back underway on lap 61 of 66.

This allowed the Ferrari driver to pull alongside. The move looked as good as done, but contact was initiated.

The official reason given is for an "alleged breach of Appendix L, Chapter IV, Article 2 d) of the International Sporting Code – Start/Finish straight incident between Cars 1 and 16 at 16:28."

The above rule is for "causing a collision. Both will report to the stewards at 17:50 local time.

Verstappen received a 10-second time penalty for his incident with George Russell at Turn 5 on the following lap.
