Mahindra ended the second day of Formula E's test as quickest, following two strong lap times in the Tuesday morning session.
Edoardo Mortara set a 1m 21.493 – the fastest lap of the test so far – on Tuesday morning, ahead of team-mate Nyck de Vries.
A disjointed afternoon session saw lap times three-tenths slower than what Mortara posted, and was topped by Cupra Kiro's Dan Ticktum on a 1m 21.746 – Nico Müller and Taylor Barnard completed the top three.
It was a difficult day for reigning world champion Oliver Rowland, who caused a late red flag in the morning session after coming to a halt at the final corner. The day failed to improve for the Nissan driver, who was slowest in the afternoon.
Testing resumes on Wednesday morning, in what will be the only session on the third day in Valencia.

Morning session - Rowland triggers late red flag
The morning session to kickstart the second day of testing saw an immediate rush to get out onto the circuit, to build upon the data gathered on Monday afternoon.
Mahindra continued its strong showing by topping the session, with Mortara leading de Vries in second by 0.093s on a 1m 21.493.
Porsche's powertrain also remained towards the sharp end after Pascal Wehrlein went quickest on Monday afternoon.
Third, fourth, fifth and sixth on Tuesday morning were all drivers powered by Porsche, consisting of Andretti's Dennis in third, followed by the factory Porsche's of Wehrlein and Müller, Cupra Kiro's Ticktum was sixth.
As for the rookies, it was an improved showing by Felipe Drugovich, ending the morning almost eight-tenths adrift in 17th. Pepe Marti remained at the back in 20th, but showed progress after going 1.3s slower than Mortara.
Unfortunately, a red flag ended the session five minutes early, due to Rowland having come to a halt at the final corner.
Afternoon session
The afternoon session begun with a 27-lap mock race, although a series of strange red flags saw it last almost 90 minutes.
Normal testing resumed afterwards, although an array of run plans was evidently on display. Ticktum went quickest on a 1m 21.746, ahead of Müller.
Müller has made a strong start to life at Porsche, having also claimed 'victory' in the mock race, ahead of the driver he replaced, Antonio Felix da Costa.
Da Costa's team-mate at Jaguar, Mitch Evans, secured fourth in the afternoon session, which marked the third of six three-hour sessions this week. Wehrlein completed the top five.
A significant improvement was made by Spanish rookie Marti, who ended the afternoon session in 10th and just under four-tenths off the pace.
