Isack Hadjar has outlined he is “practicing” for a significant test in 2026 when new technical regulations come into play.

The Racing Bulls driver has enjoyed a positive rookie campaign this year, which peaked with a run to third place at the Dutch Grand Prix.

His fine form, mixed with the struggles of Yuki Tsunoda at Red Bull, has placed him in prime position to be promoted to the senior squad next year and team up with Max Verstappen.

Major change has already occurred within the Red Bull set-up this year as the team parted ways with boss Christian Horner and promoted Laurent Mekies in his place.

Alan Permane was appointed as team principal at Racing Bulls, but speaking exclsuively to RacingNews365, Hadjar played down the significance of the switch-up.

“I didn’t feel a change,” he said. “Alan was always here, it’s not like we had a swap with someone from another team coming in.

“I feel it was more they both got an upgrade on what they do, let’s call it like this.

“What I enjoy the most is having these guys leading the team but also having an engineering background. It makes it very interesting as a driver to rely on.

“It’s a double asset, a businessman and a technician.”

Mekies and Permane are set to lead Red Bull and Racing Bulls respectively into the sport's new era in 2026 when new chassis and power unit regulations will take effect.

How the drivers will set up and handle the cars is set to be completely revamped, resulting in Hadjar using his rookie campaign as a platform to build knowledge ahead of the new campaign.

“Next year, development will be so huge,” he said. “It’s so important that when I give my feedback and everything I’m saying is pushing the team in one direction.

“I’m aware of it, this year is all about practising for next year. Next year will be a season where your brain will make the difference.”
