Max Verstappen has extended his lead at the top of the Formula 1 World Championship standings, but could now be drawn into a title fight with his race-winning teammate.
Sergio Perez stormed a hard-fought victory at the Circuit de Monaco as he cemented his place in Monaco Grand Prix history. The Mexican driver made the most of the slippery conditions to jump both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz during the pit-stop phase as Ferrari were caught napping.
He has now moved to within 15 points of his teammate, and is also just six points behind early-season favourite Leclerc.
With Leclerc having seen pole position turn into a fourth-place finish at his home race, he has seen the points gap between himself and Verstappen grow to nine.
Red Bull extend lead in Constructors' standings
Red Bull's lead in the Constructors' standings is now at 36 points, having outscored Ferrari by 10 in Monaco.
Mercedes remain in third, despite an impressive weekend for Norris, whose team are in fourth and leading the midfield fight.
It was a bad day for both Haas and AlphaTauri, however, who failed to score points with those around them profiting.
