Roman Stanek secured pole position for the F2 feature race at the Hungarian Grand Prix, setting a lap time of 1:28.779.
That was over one-tenth of a second quicker than Invicta team-mate Leonardo Fornaroli in second place, with DAMS Lucas Oil driver Jak Crawford rounding out the top three in Budapest.
He will be joined by Luke Browning on the second row at the Hungaroring as Joshua Durksen and Oliver Goethe complete row three.
Victor Martins and Arvid Lindblad were seventh and eighth quickest, respectively.
Meanwhile, as the ninth and tenth fastest, Alex Dunne and Pepe Martin will occupy the front row in the shorter sprint race on Saturday - provisionally.
Dunne will have to visit the stewards after the session as the officials want to investigate him for a potential unsafe release, something that could bring the McLaren junior a grid penalty.
