Lando Norris has asserted he wouldn't change his driving tactics at the Austrian Grand Prix following a post-race review.

The McLaren driver was involved in a collision with Max Verstappen as they battled for the race lead, resulting in the former's retirement from the race.

Verstappen went on to finish the race in fifth place but was hit with a 10-second time penalty and two penalty points for the collision.

Speaking on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X, Norris has concluded he would not do anything differently in the battle if he could change the situation.

“In general I’m feeling good,” Norris said. “I’m very excited for the British Grand Prix.

“At the same time I reviewed everything, we’ve gone over stuff, and let’s say I wouldn't really change what I did. I was fighting, and that’s what we want – we want to fight!

“We don’t want to complain, we don’t want things to end like they did, both from my Max’s side and from my side. So, that’s life sometimes.

“We’re fighting, we both want to win, and we’re going to push it to the limits – some slightly more than others. But yeah, at the same time, I’m excited. We’re going to have more fights together, and I look forward to those times.”

McLaren 'love' Red Bull fight

Norris has placed Verstappen under pressure at several races this year with McLaren continuing its strong development push.

The clash was the first coming together the duo have had this year while fighting at the front of the field.

“It’s so hard to be as accurate as what it looks like on TV,” Norris said.

“So when it is those two centimetres than it should be or stuff like that, it’s almost impossible to judge.”

Despite an unfavourable result at the Red Bull Ring, Norris asserted McLaren is relishing the prospect of battling the reigning world champions week-to-week.

“That’s what it is, that’s the competition we’re against, and we love it.

“You know, we want to go out and race hard and we want it to be easy, because we just want to win.

“At the same time, it puts a smile on our face when we can have that competition in a race, and I think it’s good for everyone watching.”
