Lewis Hamilton has revealed that he hopes to take his beloved Roscoe to Silverstone and Monza later this year, following a bout of pneumonia.
Hamilton's pet bulldog has become a bit of an icon in the Formula 1 paddock over the years, although has now reached the age of 12-and-a-half.
It is an incredibly old age for a bulldog, with Hamilton feeling like his "heart stops" every time Roscoe's carer contacts the seven-time world champion.
Due to the ever-expanding F1 calendar, spending time with Roscoe has become a huge challenge for Hamilton; however, he continues to make every effort to see him.
He plans to get Roscoe a special outfit for potentially two appearances later this year, following a successful recovery from being unwell.
"Yeah, he's doing quite well," Hamilton told select media, including RacingNews365. "He's 12 and a half years old, so he's an old boy.
"He had pneumonia. But he's fine now, fortunately, but definitely, this is a time where every time I get a text message from the lady that's looking after him, my heart stops for a second because I'm like, what's next.
"And I really want to try and bring him to Silverstone, and particularly to Monza this year, get him a red cape. I think he'd look good in a red outfit.
"It's unusual for a Bulldog to be as old as he is. But I was with him before Miami, and he still wants to play. He's still got that kind of youthful spirit. He does like to sleep a lot."
