Following the allegations made against FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the governing body has confirmed that a report has been "received" by the Compliance Officer.
The FIA President was initially accused of tampering with the results of the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Monday evening; however, a second BBC report has brought fresh claims against Ben Sulayem.
According to BBC Sport, both allegations have been made by the same whistleblower, with the fresh allegations accusing Ben Sulayem of allegedly telling officials not to certify the Las Vegas street circuit for its inaugural event last season.
In terms of the accusation regarding last season's Saudi Arabian GP, Ben Sulayem allegedly interfered in the race results and demanded Fernando Alonso's 10-second time penalty to be overturned.
Following both accusations, the FIA has confirmed that the "Compliance Department is assessing these concerns".
The FIA statement read: "The FIA confirms that the Compliance Officer has received a report detailing potential allegations involving certain members of its governing bodies. The Compliance Department is assessing these concerns, as is common practice in these matters, to ensure that due process is meticulously followed."
Following the statement, an FIA spokesperson added: "It is unfortunate and a source of concern that the matter has been disclosed to the media without any prior authorisation and that certain elements of the report were inaccurately reported."
