Formula 1's chief technical officer Pat Symonds is to vacate his position having taken the role back in 2017, according to Motorsport.com.
Symonds played a role in the creation of the current regulations which were introduced in 2022 and has also been involved in the technical regulations for 2026, when the new power unit regulations will be introduced.
However, Symonds has decided that it is time for a break, with the 2026 chassis rules to be announced next month.

No official announcement has yet been made by F1, although Symonds is believed to have decided to leave the organisation some time ago.
F1 staff were reportedly informed on Monday of the current situation.
With immediate effect, Symonds has reportedly gone on gardening leave.
Although, RacingNews365 understands that Symonds leaving at this point of the 2024 F1 season means that he has most likely found a new challenge elsewhere.
