Max Verstappen has now built up an 80-point lead in the World Championship after taking victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Despite starting from P10 on the grid, the Dutchman managed to work his way through the field to clinch his eighth win of the 2022 campaign, finishing ahead of the Mercedes duo of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.

It was a more difficult day for Ferrari. Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc lined up in second and third at the start of the race, but strategy issues left them down in fourth and sixth respectively.

This has also helped Russell to get ahead of Sainz for fourth in the standings, while Hamilton is now only 10 points away from the Spaniard.

In the Constructors' standings, Red Bull now have a 97-point advantage over Ferrari.

Mercedes, meanwhile, are only 30 points behind the Scuderia.
