Damon Hill has confirmed he is leaving Sky Sports F1's coverage after 13 seasons.

The 1996 world champion was one of the initial crop of pundits hired by the channel when F1 went behind the paywall in the UK for the first time in 2012.

He has been a regular attendee of grands prix in the punditry role and was last on-site for the broadcaster during its Sao Paulo Grand Prix coverage.

Hill is also a contributor to the F1 Nation podcast, but recently came under fire from Max Verstappen for his comments of the Dutchman's driving after the Mexico City Grand Prix, where he picked up 20 seconds worth of penalties for forcing Lando Norris wide, twice.

Hill labelled Verstappen's tactics as akin to "Dick Dastardly" tactics.

Taking to social media to announce the news, former Brabham, Williams and Jordan racer Hill expressed his gratitude to Sky Sports F1.
