Verstappen dismisses Red Bull 'power struggle' between Marko and Horner

Max Verstappen has labelled suggestions of a power struggle between Helmut Marko and Christian Horner as "BS"

Reports have emerged this week that Horner is trying to force Motorsport Advisor Marko out of the team, but Marko has said that he will only step back when he decides to.

For his part, Horner rubbished the suggestions he was seeking Marko's removal with suggestions that Verstappen himself had made it clear he would rather see Horner depart as Team Principal and CEO than Marko - who is not an employee of Red Bull Racing, rather an advisor to Red Bull GmbH.

The United States GP falls close to the one-year anniversary of founder Dietrich Mateschitz's passing, with the now triple World Champion focused on carrying forward Mateschitz's legacy.

Verstappen's blunt response

"From the outside, people are basically trying to talk BS," Verstappen explained to media including RacingNews365.

"The mood in the team is very, very good and everyone knows exactly what their role is and of course it was sad times last year when Dietrich passed away.

"But we have tried to keep that legacy, keep it moving forward and everyone that we have right now in the team is important to the success that we are having.

"That is why there are no changes for the future, and I think that basically explains it."
