Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur has insisted he 'trusts' F1 over the addition of the Las Vegas Grand Prix to the calendar.

The Nevada-based street circuit will host the city's first race since the Caesars Palace Grand Prix in 1982, which was ultimately cut from the calendar well ahead of its contract-expiration date.

Teams will face a number of challenges, not least the cool temperatures forecast that will provide a test in terms of tyre warm-up - four degrees Celsius is expected to be the most extremely low ambient temperature for some time in the sport.

The race will also take place on Saturday night local time in order for the event to fully encapsulate the atmosphere of the setting down The Strip as the world-famous hotels and casinos create a stunning backdrop.

'Vegas will be difficult'

"Vegas will be difficult but I think everybody is anticipating that it will be difficult," explained Vasseur when speaking to media including RacingNews365.com.

"It will be a night race, conditions look to be very cold. It is a new track with a kind of special layout."

On whether he had any concerns over the smooth running of the event, Vasseur replied: "We trust them [F1].

"If you have a look at Miami last year, it went pretty well on the racing side, the track was well-prepared and I hope it will be the same with Vegas."
