In a positive spin on Mercedes' challenging season, Lewis Hamilton holds the accolade for having completed the most laps in the 2022 season so far.

The Briton currently leads the lap count charts, having completed 781 out of a possible 782 laps this season.

Hamilton's only lost lap came when he fell one lap behind eventual race-winner Max Verstappen during a difficult Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Mercedes have so far had impressive reliability from their W13 cars; George Russell (seventh in this list) would likely have completed every lap of the season without his first-lap collision at the British GP.

Second on the list is Aston Martin's Lance Stroll, who fell 10 laps short of completing every lap this season. He lost five laps with a late issue at the Azerbaijan GP and lost the remaining five to being lapped in other races.

It's a similar story for third-placed Esteban Ocon (Alpine), who lost 15 laps from his one retirement of the season at the British GP, then a further two laps at other events.

Despite two retirements, championship leader Max Verstappen is sixth on the list, having completed all-but-23 laps of the season so far. His Bahrain GP retirement occurred with three laps to go, whilst his DNF in Australia was 20 laps shy of the chequered flag.

Most Ferrari-powered cars in the bottom half

At the other end of the table, Zhou Guanyu has completed the fewest laps and suffered the most retirements in 2022.

The Alfa Romeo rookie has only completed 77 per cent of the laps this season, having retired from five events.

Ferrari's Carlos Sainz is second-last on this list and has completed just one more lap than Zhou.

As a poor reflection of Ferrari's problems, in this list Sainz is behind Aston Martin's Sebastian Vettel, who was ruled out of the first two races of the season due to Covid.

Ferrari's championship challenger Charles Leclerc is 14th overall, just ahead of Red Bull's Sergio Perez.

*Tsunoda, Schumacher and Vettel did not participate in one or more races in 2022. These DNSs (Did not starts) are counted as DNFs.
