Williams boss James Vowles elected to drop Logan Sargeant midway through the 2024 season following poor performances, handing Franco Colapinto an F1 debut in his place.
Colapinto became the first Argentine to race in F1 since 2001 when he made his debut in the Italian Grand Prix, starting a nine-race stint before Carlos Sainz takes over the seat for 2025.
The 21-year-old almost made a frightening start to his Williams bow when he put a wheel in the gravel in qualifying, but managed to make a remarkable catch of the car to prevent a potentially serious incident.
It resulted in Colapinto starting from 18th on the grid, but making a one-stop strategy work, he delivered a solid drive en route to finishing 12th.
But we want to know whether Vowles, who was interested in Liam Lawson and Andrea Kimi Antonelli, made the right choice in dropping Sargeant for Colapinto.
