The 2023 Formula 1 season has already started for some of the drivers, as a number of drivers took to the track with their new teams during the post-season Abu Dhabi test. Of the ten rookies that took part, three will become permanent names in 2023; Nyck de Vries, Oscar Piastri and Logan Sargeant, who tested for AlphaTauri, McLaren and Williams respectively. Pierre Gasly also made his debut with Alpine, while Fernando Alonso took to the track for the first time with Aston Martin in the AMR22, and Nico Hulkenberg returned to F1 with Haas testing the VF22.
