The 2025 F1 season saw a packed rookie class, with three of the six making their debut at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.
Oliver Bearman, Liam Lawson and Jack Doohan had all started at least one F1 race before the trip to Melbourne, but were still embarking on their first full campaigns.
The lattermost driver was replaced at Alpine by Franco Colapinto only six rounds into the year, but the Argentine has also previously only got nine rounds under his belt, at Williams in 2024.
The group experienced mixed fortunes throughout the campaign, but Bearman, Isack Hadjar, Gabriel Bortoleto and Kimi Antonelli all showed considerable promise and a foundation to build upon in their second season.
Colapinto and Lawson endured more hardship, but were both coming on strong by the end of the campaign, earning extensions with Alpine and Racing Bulls, respectively.
Hadjar, who has been promoted to the Red Bull seat alongside Max Verstappen, is widely considered to be the rookie of the year, claiming a maiden podium and impressing throughout.
But who out of the six will make the biggest leap forward in their second season in F1?
