Lando Norris has told Red Bull it should 'complain less' and "do a better job" as the debate around flexi-wings in F1 rages.

Norris's McLaren team are in the spotlight over the flexing capabilities of the rear-wing of the MCL39, which appears to deform more than the wing on any rival's car, with Red Bull in particular unable to match the flexing.

The FIA has introduced stricter tests since the start of the season, but McLaren has insisted that it has not had to make any changes to its rear-wing design to comply with the new standards.

Also in the spotlight has been front-wing flexing, with a new technical directive from the FIA set to be introduced from June's Spanish Grand Prix, a change Red Bull boss Christian Horner believes can level the playing field and allow the team to fight McLaren on a more consistent basis.

However, Norris, who leads the drivers' standings by a single point from Red Bull's Max Verstappen heading into the Bahrain GP, has told Red Bull to keep quiet and simply perform better on track.

"We’re all fully within the rules, we're doing a good job, and Red Bull has had plenty of time to do the same thing as us and they're not," Norris was quoted as saying by Reuters.

"It is more that they should do a better job rather than keep complaining about things.

"We respect the FIA doing what they're doing and we're happy that they keep trying to correct things because we don't want anyone outside of those rules, but the last [changes] didn't affect us.

"I don't know if the new ones will or not but there are plenty of things that Red Bull do that also push the limits just as much.

"So we can also play that game, but we will just focus on ourselves rather than complaining about others."

Post the Suzuka race, a video circulated on social media showing the rear-wing flex of the MCL39 and RB21 machines, shared by Verstappen's father, Jos.

However, Norris feels that those who draw conclusions from videos "are a bit clueless.

"How do they know it's the rear wing that's flexing?," he pondered.

"They don't, it could be the whole car.

"So, people can just come up with what they want but really they have absolutely no idea."
