In the end, despite Charles Leclerc's late efforts in dropping back to try and aid Sergio Perez's push to overcome a five-second time penalty, Ferrari did not overhaul Mercedes in the fight for second.
Ferrari needed to out-score Mercedes by five points, but Leclerc's 18 was not enough with George Russell and Lewis Hamilton scoring 19. Mercedes edged Ferrari by three points.
Elsewhere, AlphaTauri did not overhaul Williams for seventh, while fourth in the Drivers' was edged by Fernando Alonso on countback.
