Charles Leclerc is building up a strong advantage in the 2022 F1 World Championship after taking another victory at the Australian Grand Prix.
Ferrari driver Leclerc, having won in Bahrain and finished second in Saudi Arabia, was already dominating Sunday's race at Albert Park when Red Bull rival Max Verstappen suffered a late retirement (his second in three races).
As a result, Leclerc holds a 34-point title lead, but his nearest rival is now Mercedes' George Russell, who grabbed a surprise podium.
Verstappen has dropped all the way to sixth, 46 points behind Leclerc, as Red Bull embark on post-race investigations in a bid to get on top of their issues for F1's return to Europe.
Carlos Sainz, Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamilton are the other drivers ahead of Verstappen as things stand.
In the Constructors' standings, Ferrari still lead the way, despite Sainz's retirement, 39 points clear of Mercedes, with Red Bull 10 points further back.
