Lando Norris has narrowly been judged by Formula 1 fans as a deserving world champion, following his 2025 drivers' title triumph.
The McLaren driver secured his first world title by just two points over Max Verstappen in the season-ending Abu Dhabi GP, ending the Dutchman's dominance.
Verstappen secured an eighth victory of the year in the season finale; however, Norris finishing in third behind team-mate Oscar Piastri was enough to become world champion.
On Friday, Norris received the F1 world title trophy at the FIA prize-giving gala in Uzbekistan, officially being crowned the 2025 F1 drivers' champion.
It has been argued by some that, while Norris secured the title, Verstappen was the actual deserving champion following his staggering comeback.
Verstappen found himself 104 points adrift after the Dutch GP but went on a spectacular run to fall just two points short of a record-equalling fifth consecutive crown.
In a RacingNews365 poll, 48.2% of voters believe Norris is a deserving champion, although 41.2% are adamant it should have been Verstappen.
Interestingly, despite leading the title for much of the campaign, only 10.6% share the opinion that Piastri deserved the championship.
