Sergio Perez has become the latest driver to confirm his future with a leading F1 team after putting pen to paper on a new deal with Red Bull until the end of 2024.
The Mexcian did so in style, signing his new contract on the weekend that he stormed to Monaco Grand Prix glory with his third F1 career win.
His new deal leaves just seven drivers facing expiring contracts at the end of the current season, not including any embedded clauses that could trigger an extension.
But which seats are up for grabs ahead of 2023, and who would depart the sport at the end of the current season?
Who could leave at the end of 2022?
Amongst those with contracts expiring at the end of the 2022 season are Sebastian Vettel, Yuki Tsunoda, Fernando Alonso and Alex Albon – although impressive performances during the early rounds of the season mean it is unlikely they will exit ahead of 2023.
Zhou Guanyu, Mick Schumacher and Nicholas Latifi face uncertain futures, with the latter two drivers having cost their teams plenty of cash due to recent accidents.
Zhou can be pleased with his early-season performances, though, during a year in which the rookie is tasked with going head-to-head with an experienced Grand Prix winner in the form of Alfa Romeo teammate Valtteri Bottas.
