Zhou Guanyu is set to receive a 20-place grid penalty for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, following multiple component changes outside of his pool.
The FIA confirmed that Sauber has fitted a third new energy store to Zhou's car, going beyond the legal limit of two.
On top of this, a third new control electronics has also been fitted to the Chinese driver's C44 – each driver is allowed two new control electronics across the F1 season.
As a result of the Hinwil-based team fitting a new energy store and control electronics beyond Zhou's legal pool, the 25-year-old is in breach of Article 28.2 of the sporting regulations.
With it being the first of each component outside of Zhou's allocated pool, it is a 10-place grid penalty per component, totalling a 20-place grid drop for the driver at the Baku City Circuit.
