Former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya has criticised Sergio Perez, following the Mexican driver's latest complaints of how he was treated at Red Bull.
Perez joined Red Bull at the start of the 2021 season to replace Alex Albon and initially offered competitive performances; however, his form spiralled dramatically in 2024.
As a result, himself and Red Bull parted ways, leading to Perez spending last year off the grid – he rejoins in the upcoming season with Cadillac.
Despite securing five wins for Red Bull and finishing second in the 2023 drivers' standings, Perez has often voiced much against the Milton Keynes-based outfit.
His most recent comments saw Perez insist that no matter how well or poorly he performed "everything was a problem" and that it was made clear to him Red Bull was Max Verstappen's team.
Montoya has hit back at Perez's comments towards Red Bull, insisting that the 35-year-old knew what awaited him alongside Verstappen.
"If you look at it from the perspective of a Mexican Perez fan, you could argue that Red Bull hasn't treated him entirely fairly," Montoya said on his podcast MontoyAS.
"But as he himself said, he knew what he was getting into. Unfair or not, Red Bull did help him get five wins. How much can you complain then?
"In the end, one can complain about the fact that the car was sometimes undrivable, but there were also many good things.
"Red Bull also gave him a lot of opportunities. If he was comfortable in the car, he did an excellent job."
