What to watch while F1 is not on TV

With just over 60 days until the start of the longest F1 season in history, the season-opening race still seems far away. Here's a rundown of shows to watch in your spare time.

While F1 is away during the winter break there is still a lot of content to watch on TV and streaming services. RacingNews365.com has compiled all of the latest films and series to watch while we wait for the five lights to go out in Bahrain. Check out the list below.

Lucky! The Incredible Life Story of Bernie Ecclestone - Discovery+

This eight hour TV series chronicles the life of Bernie Ecclestone, the 'F1 supremo' that ruled the sport for 40 years. Directed by Manish Pandey, who was the writer of the documentary film Senna , it features interviews with Ecclestone recalling various periods in F1's 70-year history. It's a brilliant watch for the restored F1 footage alone, while Ecclestone gives his viewpoint of some of the sports most controversial moments.

Mosley - Netflix

Based on the life of controversial character and former FIA President Max Mosley, this documentary looks back on his life in F1 and beyond. It ties in well with some of the storylines from Lucky! as Mosley was a key right-hand man of Ecclestone during the FISA/FOCA war, which led to their eventual takeover of F1. Mosley is also an important figure in British public life, as he was one of the key figures who took legal action against former tabloid News of the World during the investigations into illegal phone hacking.

Stewart - Sky Documentaries

Three-time F1 World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart is the subject of this documentary about his life. The 90-minute film chronicles his life from humble beginnings outside Glasgow, to his time in one of F1's most dangerous periods in the late 60s and early 70s. Stewart also speaks about his struggle with severe dyslexia, and how he had to navigate those challenges throughout his career.

Drive to Survive Season 5 - Netflix

Everyone's favourite Netflix series returns for a fifth season this year, looking back on all the main stories of the 2022 F1 season. It will no doubt depict the dominance of Max Verstappen, the heartache for Charles Leclerc, the cost cap controversy, and the midfield battles in its signature fly-on-the-wall style. Season 5 is set to premiere on 24th February.
