Max Verstappen has stated he will seek talks with Lando Norris following their contact at the Austrian Grand Prix.

The pair clashed on lap 64 of the race while battling for the lead, resulting in terminal damage for Norris.

Verstappen was able to continue but was hit with a 10-second time penalty and two penalty points on his super licence, classifying in fifth place.

After being blamed by the stewards for the collision, Verstappen questioned Norris' driving in the build-up to the clash.

“I felt like sometimes these dive bombs, you're so late on the brakes that one time you go straight, one time I had to go around the sausage [kerb] or whatever you call it, otherwise we would have touched as well,” he told Sky F1.

“So I think it's also just the shape of the corner which provides these kinds of issues sometimes.

“I mean, I've had it also the other way around, it is what it is. It's just never nice of course to to come together.”

Verstappen denies moving under braking

Norris' late race surge was aided by a slow pit stop for Verstappen, allowing the McLaren driver to close up to the back of the Dutchman.

Verstappen has denied he moved under braking despite being judged as the guilty party by the stewards.

“Of course from the outside is hard to see when I brake,” Verstappen said.

“I know of course, in the past that has always been a bit of a complaint. But now I always move my wheel before I brake.

“And then of course you're braking in a straight line trajectory or whatever.

“That's always easy to say from the outside that I was moving under braking, but I think the guy in the car knows best what he's doing.”
