Max Verstappen's rivals have been dealt an ominous warning ahead of this weekend's Australian Grand Prix, with a huge percentage of fans expecting the Dutchman to claim victory.

This weekend's season-opener at Albert Park promises to be an exciting affair, with heavy rain being forecast for the race on Sunday.

Red Bull encountered a difficult pre-season test in Bahrain, resulting in Verstappen raising concerns about the team's chances ahead of F1's trip Down Under.

McLaren are very much the favourites both in Australia and for both the drivers' and constructors' titles; however, Verstappen is heavily backed to win the first round.

In a recent RacingNews365 poll, fans were asked where they believe Verstappen will finish this weekend.

An astounding 40% of voters believe he will be victorious, with just over 72% expecting him to finish on the podium.

Whilst 2.5% predict that the 27-year-old will suffer an opening round retirement, no voter expects him to finish the race outside the points.
