Max Verstappen has declared that a potential Formula 1 Sprint championship would "mean nothing" as tweaks are made to the format for 2024.
Verstappen is a vocal critic of the alternate F1 weekend layout, despite winning four of the six Sprints in 2023, with another six set to be held in the new season.
However, format tweaks are set to be made for the fourth season with Sprint races, with a possible reversed grid or even a seperate Sprint championship raised as potential ideas.
When these were put to Verstappen, he was far from impressed.

"It doesn't matter [or mean] anything to me, as it is the same when you crossed the line in the race or in the main one," Verstappen told media including RacingNews365.
"There is no satisfaction to winning a Sprint for me, but honestly, they will do what they want.
"I don't find it really interesting, so like I said before, why do we need to keep on trying to make changes, when I feel like they fail.
'Just having the normal race format and all the teams close together, that will be exciting enough."
