Pierre Gasly has been issued a reprimand after crossing the pit lane exit line during qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix.
Drivers are required to keep to the right of the marked line as they exit the pit lane, which feeds them towards Turn one at Albert Park.
However, while emerging onto the track during qualifying, Gasly moved his Alpine car over the line, something drivers are prohibited from doing in the interest of safety.
A statement from the Stewards highlighted that they “reviewed video evidence and Car 10 crossed the line at pit exit.”
After assessing the situation, the Stewards “issued a Reprimand (driving) which is the standard penalty as the manoeuvre was not dangerous.”
Drivers are allowed five reprimands during a season before being handed a grid penalty for the next applicable Grand Prix.
Gasly is set to start the Australian Grand Prix from 17th on the grid.
