On Wednesday, the Formula 1 world was on fire following a report that highlighted the alleged use of a parc fermé trick seemingly adopted by a particular team. Talks are understood to have taken place between the FIA and several teams regarding the issue where a team had found a clever way to adjust the car's ride height between qualifying and the race. This has forced the FIA to intervene and adjust its procedures in the United States because, within the regulations, it is strictly forbidden to adjust the car in parc fermé. RacingNews365 understands that Red Bull is under the microscope on this matter. Rivals have reportedly pointed an accusing finger at the Milton Keynes-based team after becoming aware of the situation. To be clear, no team has been found to be illegal. The FIA has simply opted to change its procedures to appease growing concerns. In essence, the trick involves allowing a mechanic in the cockpit to adjust the so-called t-tray, also known as a bib. Thus, the ride height can be optimised for qualifying as well as the race, improving the car's performance. As the FIA confirmed in an statement it released earlier: “While we have not received any indication of any team employing such a system, the FIA remains vigilant in our ongoing efforts to enhance the policing of the sport. “As part of this, we have implemented procedural adjustments to ensure that front bib clearance cannot be easily modified. “In some cases, this may involve the application of a seal to provide further assurance of compliance.” This story has now moved on.
