Sergio Perez will remain with Red Bull for the rest of the 2024 F1 season, as confirmed to RacingNews365 by the team.

The 34-year-old's future had been at risk, but the constructors' champions have opted to keep faith with Perez for the rest of the campaign.

The news comes following a key meeting earlier today of Red Bull senior management.

It was believed the Mexican was set to be replaced by either Liam Lawson or Daniel Ricciardo amid reports of a 'shootout' between the two drivers at an Imola test on Wednesday.

Red Bull, however, has now made a definitive decision on Perez despite a poor run of form stretching back to the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in May.

In the past eight rounds, the six-time grand prix winner has scored a mere 28 points, in stark contrast to the 141 collected by three-time F1 champion team-mate Max Verstappen.

Team principal Christian Horner made an announcement to Red Bull staff at the team's factory in Milton Keynes.

A Red Bull spokesperson confirmed: “Checo remains a Red Bull Racing driver despite recent speculation and we look forward to seeing him perform at tracks he has previously excelled at after the summer break.”
