Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher has ridiculed George Russell, following the Mercedes driver's "classic" outburst in Mexico City.
Russell was one of the most vocal drivers on the radio during the Mexican GP, having initially been left furious that no driver was penalised on the first lap.
Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen both cut across the grass between the first and third corner on the opening lap at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, before rejoining in second and fourth, respectively.
Russell, who was fifth at the time, watched it all unfold in front of him. The Mercedes driver quickly called for the pair to be penalised on the radio, something the stewards promptly opted against.
Later in the race, the Briton became vocal on the radio again, this time after wanting to be allowed to overtake team-mate Kimi Antonelli.
It took multiple laps for Mercedes to swap its drivers, something which infuriated the King's Lynn-born driver.
In the end, Russell had to settle for sixth in Mexico, with Schumacher being left unimpressed by his multiple outbursts.
"Russell.... Well, the classic!", Schumacher said on the Backstage Boxengasse podcast. "Whoever complains the loudest gets some extra attention.
"This time, fortunately, that didn't work. To be honest, I'm quite happy about that."
Focusing on Verstappen, Schumacher was pleased to see the Red Bull driver not penalised. The four-time world champion was forced onto the kerb at the opening corner by the two Ferraris, unsettling his RB21.
Had Verstappen not taken to the grass, a crash was probable, while he ensured that he remained behind both Ferrari drivers when he rejoined.
"I think it was right that Verstappen didn't get a penalty," added Schumacher. "He didn't wriggle between them and let the other two pass nicely again, so that was OK. It was typical Max again."
