Porsche has confirmed that they will be entering the Gen4 era of Formula E as a powertrain supplier, continuing its stint in the championship until at least the end of 2030.

The Gen4 era of Formula E will be introduced in 2026/27 and conclude in 2029/2030, with Porsche being the third manufacturer to confirm its entry into the next era of the series.

The Mahindra masterplan to return to the top of Formula E

RacingNews365 had the pleasure of collaborating with Formula E outfit Mahindra Racing at the recent Berlin E-Prix double-header, to hear all about the team's plans to return to the top of the all-electric series, following a tough start to the current Gen3 era of the championship.

Formula E chaos as five cars trigger alarming red flag

Formula E's long-awaited return to China hit an immediate speed bump, as five cars stopped on the circuit in the opening minutes of first practice.

For its return to China – the first Formula E race was held in Beijing in 2014 – the all-electric series has gone to the Shanghai International Circuit, which recently hosted F1.

Evans wins Shanghai thriller but investigations underway

Mitch Evans mastered the peloton to win the inaugural Shanghai E-Prix, following an aggressive duel with Pascal Wehrlein.

Evans had an energy advantage over Wehrlein and made a move for the lead on the final lap, before defending the position to secure his second win of 2024. Championship leader Nick Cassidy claimed third.

Da Costa claims Shanghai victory as Wehrlein suffers huge title blow

Antonio Felix da Costa secured a majestic victory in the second race of the Shanghai E-Prix double-header, whilst his team-mate suffered a huge blow to his title chances. 

Starting in third, Da Costa remained amongst the leaders the entire race, before charging to the front when he had enough energy to push for the remaining laps. His energy management was flawless and saw him claim a second win in three races.

Formula E championship standings after 2024 Shanghai E-Prix

Nick Cassidy has extended his lead in the drivers' championship to 25 points following a third place and a fourth place in the Shanghai E-Prix double-header.

Pascal Wehrlein remains in second but is only 10 points ahead of Mitch Evans who is climbing up the standards, following a win and a P5 in China. Oliver Rowland is fourth whilst reigning world champion Jake Dennis is slipping out of contention in fifth.
