The driver of a 'phantom Ferrari F1 car' has been arrested in the Czech Republic, after a years long search.
Back in 2019, footage was released on social media of a driver on a motorway driving what was purported to be a Ferrari F1 car.
On Sunday, the machine was again seen on the public roads, with people alerting it to the police after the machine pulled over for petrol.
Police then traced the vehicle to Buk, a small town south-west of Prague, where a 51-year-old man was arrested, according to officials.
On X, the Czech Police wrote that the man "refused to comment" on the situation, but that the matter was being forwarded to the "administrative proceeding", where he faces a fine of "several thousand" and a driving ban.
The car itself is not a Ferrari F1 machine, but rather what appears to be a GP2 car, built by Dallara, and decked out in a livery no Ferrari has ever carried in F1.
