Ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, RacingNews365 and Formula.hu reported that F1 is set to welcome an 11th team to the grid in 2026.

It is to do with Andretti's entry which was previously rejected by the pinnacle of motorsport, but approved by the FIA.

Now, a new American outfit looks set to be joining the grid, with The Associated Press reporting that the team will be called Cadillac F1.

Cadillac is a division of General Motors, who have partnered with Andretti for the F1 entry. F1 had initially rejected Andretti's bid due to deeming it as not a commercial addition to the series.

The expected approval comes not long after Michael Andretti took a major step back from being Andretti's CEO.

One question still to be answered is who will power the new American team, with General Motors not being able to produce its own F1 engines until 2028.

It is expected to use either Ferrari or Honda engines in 2026 and 2027.
