Ahead of April's highly anticipated first trip to Misano, Formula E has confirmed the track layout which will be used at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

Taking place across April 13-14, the circuit on Italy's Adriatic coast will play host to a double-header. It's set to be an exciting event, with a rookie Free Practice session having also been scheduled to kickstart the E-Prix.

Formula E will also have a support category in Italy, following the recent announcement that the NXT Gen Cup will support Formula E at all European rounds this season. Misano is best known for hosting MotoGP, whilst it's also been used in the past by RB for testing.

Formula E won't be using the full circuit, with the bulk of the traditional first sector set to be cordoned off. Instead, the all-electric series will incorporate the opening four corners using Misano's infield, before returning to the traditional circuit.

The remainder of the actual circuit will be used, including the thrillingly fast Curvone. However, at the first Curvone, a chicane will be put in place. Overall, the circuit will consist of 14 corners across a 3.381km layout.

Based on the layout, it looks set to be a fast circuit where overtaking should be possible, meaning the chances of an excellent couple of races look good.
