Lando Norris is seeking to use his favourable opinion of the Red Bull Ring to unlock performance following a difficult stint at McLaren.
Norris failed to score last time out in Canada after a late-race clash with team-mate Oscar Piastri.
One race beforehand in Spain, he was forced to settle for second on the road while Piastri secured his fifth win of the campaign.
Norris has struggled to extract pace from the MCL38 at times this year and used an alternate suspension in Montreal to offer him a better feeling from inside the car.
As he looks to use the confidence boost behind the wheel to unlock performance, he highlighted the Austrian weekend has come at an ideal time as it sits high on his list of preferred race tracks.
“If there is any track that I would say I would go to, to give myself the best feeling and make myself most comfortable, it's probably here,” Norris told media including RacingNews365.
“Just from my stats, from my enjoyment of the circuit and some of the memories that I've had here as well, so a good one.
"But every weekend's new and there's already a lot of good learnings from last weekend.”
Norris now sits 22 points off the championship lead but is seeking to claw into the deficit with a return to the top step of the podium in Spielberg.
“Canada was not a perfect weekend from both qualifying or the race but still plenty of positives to take into this weekend to work on and improve,” Norris added.
“From both a personal side and a team side trying to improve the car and look at the improvements I need, this is certainly a good opportunity.”
